1.3 Teaching system

After I observe my cooperative teacher in the classroom, the teaching system that be used in the class is discovery learning. Discovery learning is an inquiry-based learning method that takes a constructivist approach to education, where students are encouraged to construct their own knowledge through a self-directed learning process—essentially “instructionless” learning. That also sometimes have a collaborative with Student-centered learning gives students the opportunity to decide two things: what material they learn and how they learn it.

1.4 Material and other learning sources

For the English subject in grade 7th of Highschool, material and learning sources mostly are from textbook that tittle English in Perspective: Philippines Literature 7 from Maria Alicia Bustos-Orosa, or other learning source that can be found on internet, and the teacher itself.

For the measurement and evaluation system in FEU Roosevelt Cainta, mostly they use the evaluation to conduct the material review as part of reflection in the end of subject unit. The midterm tests and semester tests that have been scheduled in the annual program and the school semester program.

1.6 Curriculum

As I observe, Understanding by Design, or UbD, is a curriculum that use in here, where planners look at the desired outcomes at the end of the study in order to design curriculum units, performance assessments, and classroom instruction.

1.7 Teaching Plan

In FEU Roosevelt Cainta, especially for English subject in Highschool, the teacher has a weekly and daily teaching plan. But teacher more prefer use a weekly teaching plan since it more flexible and adjustable with the schedule. There are some column that contain in the lesson plan, which is "Schedule" for general information such as date, grade levels, and subject, and "Standars" that contains Content Standars, Performance Standars, Essistential  Understanding, and Essential Question. And after that, it also include the tittle of the lesson with unit and teaching-learning activities.

There are four steps to teaching-learning activities. First, is learning activity that warm up the students with material in a fun way. Second, the discussion about the material. Third, the deepening for make student add more information for the material. And of course the last is a reflection to assesst the students.
