[II.] Pedagogial Contents


2.1 Teaching Method

Since previously before the teacher already mention about the teaching system that more like student-centered, so the teacher should be a facilitator to make sure the student can also connect what they learn to their experience or own knowledge. That also one of the part for the FEU Roosevelt mission about Ressilience. 

2.2 Learning Material and Innovation

For the textbook of Philippine Literature, we used that for some part only and it not in arrangement of the pages, it will be based about our discussion about the material and we used it for reference. Beside of that, the additional material also available in Canvas Modules that student can access it every time. It also include the Scholastic Presentation Materials and Reading Skills to improve their reading as one of the college program. The innovation that we always do is the learning activity part (motivation). The teacher must to make it creative so the student can be more interested in the material even before they learn about it. 

For example, as their activities to motivation, the material that I taught is about Traditional Poem (Riddle, Proverbs, and Poem). I made the activity with Pass The Box game, that student have to pass the box until the music stop, the last person who hold the box when the music stop, they have to pick one of the paper in the box that include Riddle and Proverbs. Whoever get the Riddle, they have to guess the answer. Whoever get Proverbs, they have to interpret their meaning. And as a teacher, I have to confirm which one the correct answer.

2.3 Sources and learning technology

As explained earlier, sources of learning are used in the form of textbooks and also several sources from the internet to develop material in the books. Meanwhile, the technology used in the form of laptops, computers, projectors, and LCDs, while for online learning there is “Canvas” as an online media, there is also a language Lab, Scholastic Lab to measure reading skills based on Lexile level, and also collaborative learning with other subjects sustainable.

2.4 Authentic Assessment

Assessment that we have done for students, as follows:

    * Daily assessment, student have the Point Bank Card that compile their point of their activeness in the class. If they participate to answer the teacher question while in the middle of the material, and they answer it right, they got the point and they can write it on the cards
    * Reflection or end assessment of the material, it will be done when it already on the end of the material before continue to others material
    * Mid-test and Final test from school
